Doesn't Everybody?

Doesn't everybody have an enormous mahogany dining table sitting in their front entrance hall?

We bought a new (to us ... it's an antique) dining room table for the Boston apartment, and today it was delivered all the way from California by a large truck and a trio of burly men.  I had planned on it arriving in four pieces -- two end bits and the expanding leaves -- but it came in one piece with the extra leaves in addition.  This made it rather a challenge to squeeze through our old house's front door, and there was no way it was going to then make a sharp left hand turn to be temporarily stored in the living room!  So it will spend the next month until we move luxuriating in the front hall.  Good thing we never use the front door!
