The "Drought" Ends

The last time we had a real snowfall was 41 days ago on 12 January. So we have been happy to see that more snow is on the way, and as expected it arrived today.
We got around 30 cm of snow and it was windy too so drifts were forming around houses, roads etc.  I took a short walk to the post poxes, put a few things away and fetched so wood for the fire. It was fairly wild outside and trying to walk into the wind was horrible with snow blasting into my eyes and face. Trying to take pictures into the wind covered the lens with snow in a few seconds so this picture is taken facing downwind, with my body protecting the camera!
We couldn't get out to the road so we missed our Wednesday film but that was a very minor inconvenience.
Now it has stopped snowing and I think I heard our neighbour firing up his digger so hopefully our drive will be cleared early tomorrow.
In any case we'll be out tomorrow enjoying our renewed winter and hoping for more days like this one. The snow changes the shapes of objects and outlines soften. The extra shows a beautified saw horse!
