Montague Burton

A brief sunny break in Storm Doris allowed me to capture Montague Burton in all his glory. I have captured this before but this shot shows the complete facade   Burton's architect; Harry Wilson had fully embraced art deco by the 1930s and his flamboyant style  is conserved all over the UK. This link shows locations on Google maps in case you want to check out for some where you are. Montague , according to Wiki, was born in Meshe Osinsky in Lithuania  and came to England in 1900 aged 15 unable to speak English.   The shop fronts are a lasting example of the contribution of one Eastern European to the heritage of the UK.
