While We Were Dripping

6.1C with frequent heavy showers and bright spells. Wind N/NNW/NW to 34 mph with gusts to 48 mph (afternoon 24 mph with gusts to 33 mph).

Maeve the Deerhound slept through until the alarm clock ... and beyond !

After lunch Apothecary7, Maeve, and I went for the repeat of the morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.

Once Maeve was back home and settled we went for another walk. We went out to the shipyard. The CalMac ferry Loch Bhrusda was tied up at the old quay. Two fishing boats came in as we were walking out along Low Askomill. We had chosen to go out during what the BBC web forecast showed as a dry bright three hour spell.

It rained.

We both had on waterproof jackets but neither of us had on waterproof trousers. While we were dripping wet out at the shipyard the sun came out. On the way back we knew another shower was heading our way. A huge black cloud was drifting in over the hill and the houses above on High Askomill..

We got wetter.

The shower had gone off by the time we got back to the Esplanade so we wandered round to the harbour and came back home though town where we visited The Curiosity Shop. We had seen a pair of "Wally Dugs" there some time ago. We had a look at them again. The price has gone down a bit. They are reproductions with some age and are quite attractive. Tempted but no sale yet.

Later Apothecary7 was painting.

Afternoon music ... 10cc, How Dare You! Duffy, Rockferry.
