a campus spectacle

The last day of Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count saw the sun shining, although with a cool wind. I did a count over at the campus allotment at lunchtime and found five species, which is the most variety I've seen there at one time during the summer: Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Speckled Wood, Small White and Holly Blue.

I took better Peacock pictures in Berkshire a couple of weeks ago, but didn't blip one then, so here's my thirteenth different butterfly species that I've blipped this year.
