An ordinary life....

Doris Day...

So this was the scene I woke up to this morning.

When I went to bed it was calm, quiet and snowless outside.  By the time my alarm played it's cheery tune, Storm Doris had made her presence felt.

We weren't sure if Alan's support worker Karen would make it in so David stayed home just incase.  She was here just before 10am though so David got changed and was in his office within the hour.  Journey time didn't take any longer than usual as once he was out of our local, the snow disappeared and it was just a rainy day.

Thankfully the builders made it but outside work on the decking had to be abandoned.   Alan the electrician is having fun transferring us to our new master boards.  He keeps finding faults in the system then has to find them.  Not an easy task. As a result, the electricity to the sockets was off for most of the day (kitchen was still on though so could have a cuppa `:-)  When David got in from work he went through to check the pool and to his alarm, when he opened the door, there was heat but not the blast of humidity he expected.  When he checked the water it had also dropped in temperature.

He had a look at the user manual to try and figure out what had happened. He thought it might be to do with snow on the roof affecting the filter funnel.

Eventually he contacted the engineer, who thankfully was available to chat.  Turns out it was because the electricity has been off.  He was able to talk David through the steps to re-set the system.  Phew!  The only problem now is we hope it will have warmed up enough for Saturday as I can't bear the thought of having to tell Alan he won't be able to get in the pool for another few days.   Saturday is THE day as far as he's concerned!
