River Wharfe

Helen and I braved the elements this morning and took a walk at Bolton Abbey.  We had initially planned to hike up through the Valley of Desolation to Simon's Seat but the showers coming through and the low level cloud on the moor decided us to take a riverside walk instead.

The Cavendish Pavilion was closed as they were cutting down trees on the estate and had switched off the electrickery so, instead of having our cuppa there, we walked up to the Strid and from there to the Strid Tearoom.  The showers continued as we walked on to Barden Bridge, but as we returned on the opposite side of the River Wharfe, patches of blue sky appeared and the sun came out.

Sadly no kingfisher spotted today but good to get out for some exercise and to catch up.
