Lone Skier on the Sea

A few kilometers from Herring Bay (Sillviken)  where Claire lives we found this lone skier heading south along the coast. The skier is about to enter a narrow sound between an island and the headland down which we are driving. (You can see the tip of said island just beyond the skier.) Across the sea ice on the horizon you can see the other side of this wide bay and the bank of cloud is probably over the open sea, where the ice eventually ends, if it doesn't stretch right across to Finland.
Once the sea ice forms the air becomes much drier and there is much more of the "cold and crisp" feeling to the winter, so everyone becomes a touch happier. The snow mobile drivers and local X-country skiers become much happier.
We knew we wouldn't have time to ski so we left all our equipment at home on this tai Chi trip.  We'll be back early in April so we hope the sea stays frozen that long so we can explore the coast a little.
