A Weed Blip

This is not a flower blip or a swan blip, or a kitten blip, not even a puppy blip. This is a weed blip.

I stand today as a champion of weeds, particularly those which don't luxuriate in fertile garden soil.
I champion those that sustain themselves somehow in barren waste ground, in clefts in walls, and in corners amongst rubbish swept in by the wind and unheeded by passers by.

Not that this healthy looking dandelion was in danger of being overlooked by me in the lane I was walking down. It stood out from afar with its vibrant colour amongst the greys and blacks of stone and Tarmac.

In fact it was the bright note in an otherwise fairly monochrome morning.
If only the sun would stay out for longer than 5 minutes to gladden our hearts and give us a shred of hope for an Indian summer.
