Mary Queen of Scots Slept Here

Or hereabouts.

She definitely stayed somewhere in Jedburgh in 1566. Some experts assert that this house was built around 1600, so, who knows?

Wherever she was, she remained for four weeks, very ill, and years later is supposed to have said  'Better I had died at Jethart'. Which, given how things turned out, is understandable.

The house is a museum now, and just about to open for 2017. I must make this the year I actually set foot inside.

There's an extra of the whole building.
