Stuff and Nonsense

Chacchoben Mayan ruins

Today we were in Costa Maya, Mexico which is a purpose built facility especially for cruise ships. You can imagine it - bars, tat souvenir shops, restaurants, overpriced watersports - you get the idea....
So we decided to take a tour to the Chacchoben Mayan ruins which were about an hour away. It was a great tour with lots of interesting information and it's amazing to think that these structures were built over 2000 years ago with none of today's modern equipment and machinery. They were discovered in the 1970's by an American archeologist called Peter Harrison.
Back onboard the ship now and about to set sail for Roatan, Honduras.

Thank you all for visiting my journal and all the lovely comments and stars.
