A Grand Day Out

London, Family and Friends

What a brilliant day! It was a weekend of coincidences. The social media and the virtual world precipitated meeting in the real world (arbitrary difference to social constructionists we should know...)

I blipped at midnight when we arrived in London after a lovely day passing through Grantham. A comment then led to meeting up with very old and great friends who just happened to be in London today. A few texts and 'Voila' we were drinking wine by St Paul's Cathedral. What an incredible world of telecommunications and social technologies we now inhabit.

Prior to that we met up with family and this picture was taken on the 'dodgy and wobbly' bridge that connects the South Bank and the Tate Modern with St Paul's. You can even see the rather pointy Shard in the background.

Then after a long trek around London both sides of the Thames we 'oystered' our way over to Brixton and Coldharbour Lane for a great pizza in Franco Manca (Brixton Village). It is amazing what you can fit in to a day out in London - again with a little local knowledge, Samsung smartphone and google maps !!

Exhausted to bed..
