River traffic

This car transport ship was one of the many vessels making their way up and down the Columbia River right outside our hotel window this morning. The 4.1 mile long Astoria-Megler Bridge connects Oregon to Washington State near the mouth of the Columbia. It is high enough on one side to allow the large ships to pass under it. 
Today was grey and so very rainy, so more muted colors on display.
