when you wake in spring

I do particularly like this pictured 1990 volume from Andrew Greig ...

... and here's one of my very favourites from within:

Annie, in Spring

Life a dream? They're misinformed
who never laid a finger on your skin.

When you wake in spring
the fuzz on the pussy willow
and the willow itself are one:
nothing out of focus here.

The sun on our shoulders blooms, passes,
what more could we ask of light?
What is seen, is.
The eyes have it.

Now the sheen on the chestnut
and the chestnut itself
embrace in her hair,
there is no further waking.
