Cloud Layers

Starting with warm up navigation we soon arrived at Scales Tarn for coffee, from where we watched a few people start up Sharp Edge. (Now added to my to do list). We then left the paths behind and made our way around the back via Brunt Knott and up onto Mungrisdale Common before taking a rising traverse up to the snow line under Atkinson Pike and then onwards to the summit of Blencathra.

The weather was mostly clear apart from some swirling cloud cover at the top and I'd say temperature varied from +6C to what felt like -4C in the wind. This blip was taken looking out West as we reached the snow. We could see several cloud layers and some overnight weather rolling in.

A great day.
