Approaching

Or receding, depending on how you look at it. Today was an uninspiring sort of day, so an emergency vine blip was almost inevitable. Walking through the vines I had the impression of time paused, waiting for the moment when the tractors and harvesting machines arrive.

The weather was so grey this morning that despite the mayor's edict, I failed to go swimming. It seems that autumn has arrived with a bump -- after the effervescence of summer the air is cool, the sky is grey, and the streets of the village are empty and silent. Waiting.
