Counting

Lincoln hasn't shown any interest in reading yet and when he counts he just makes it up and goes as high as he can be bothered. Recently I realised that he recognises numbers based on the Thomas trains. He picked up a foam number 4 and told me it was a Gordon. So today I got him to put all the trains on their number. I couldn't believe I actually engaged him in a learning activity. It's all about finding an angle that interests him and trains always win.
