Was It Really So Long Ago

Paralympics

We enjoyed another day of athletics in the Olympic stadium today, with numerous events taking place. It was nothing short of scintillating, unless you're five, in which case it was boring. That's a shame, since it will quite possibly be the only opportunity she will have to experience it, but 5 is 5 and as Mandeville didn't put in an appearance, no arguements were had on the subject. Instead, I drew out my phone and entertainment was found with any number of funny talking animals.

TeamGB claimed a number of golds during day, in athletics rowing and equestrian. The moment when Aled Davies won gold in the discus was electric, after which he toured the stadium, signing tickets, to be stopped by officials who ushered him sideways stage left. This brought on an 80 000 strong boo, but the patiently waiting 800m athletes were keen to get under way and he was creating far too much of a distraction. He was later allowed to continue on his tour of the stadium.

Stef Reid, also brought in silver in the Women's Long Jump - F42/44 to much applause and again ticket signing. But the best captured action shot of the day goes to Australian athlete, Kelly Cartwright who beat Stef to the gold.

I hope you like it.
