Swallow Rock

No, this is not what you do when somebody thumps you on the back when you're enjoying a childhood day on the beach, but the name of a cliff on the shore along the Gallanach Road in Oban.

I bought this postcard recently along with another, a view of McCaig's Tower, sent to somebody in Banbury in 1921. Rather different now. From a photography point of view it's not a great image, as it has two thirds of a coo on the right of the picture!

Swallow Rock is still there, of course, but with a difference. There are a couple of houses built on top of it! Is nothing sacred? You can see the modern view in my extra, painted quickly this morning. Not.
