Silhouettes

P and I had a day "off" - well mostly. After an eye appointment, we caught the 10:30am ferry to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay, and drove down Island towards Victoria where we were meeting some friends for dinner. We stopped at Cowichan Bay and had a photo walk. I have dozens of images of these backlit trees. Loved the mixture of textures and fine lines; new young branches; cedar leaves poking in from the side; the moss on the trunks evident in this silhouette and the way the trunks became very flat; most 2 dimensional like ink strokes. 

A wonderful dinner at Il Terrazzo and then a night at the Magnolia Hotel. My fav!
