Lily

Just catching up after being away for a few days with no wifi and only an intermittent phone / data signal. Can't say I really missed it. I should probably do the digital detox a bit more often.

The last morning dawns with a dusting of snow on the hills opposite and a more solid whiteness on the westerly Munros. But down here at loch level it's just rain and although the thermometer is lower than previous days, without the wind it feels fine. Time to pack and take our leave. The visitors book waits for our entry. After leafing through the entries from opening in May 2013 I feel unworthy. There are drawings a plenty. Of lochs, of hates, of pigs, of mountains, of squirrels, of stick figures in boots, on bikes and building loch side fires. I opt for words, and not too many. What else can be added to the richly deserved praise?

Then back home After dropping into my friend's farm shop for lunch to the luxury of a few days without pressure or commitments. We enter the house to the smell of lilies from last week. The tulips and roses and gerbera have drooped and are discarded leaving the white flowers centre stage.
