Elgar Country

The rolling Malvern Hills, where Edward Elgar would sit, looking over the three counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire inspiring him to compose his wonderful music.
Took this photograph on the way home from Claines, Worcester. I went up there for an RBL Riders 'Darts and Pool Championship'. It was only about 20 of us and really more of an excuse for a social event and a chat but there were 3 trophies. I didn't stay until the end but got a few photographs for the FB page.
On the way there I went up the M5 from Gloucester to North Worcester but on the way back took the A38 through Worcester and on towards Tewkesbury. Stopped in a layby to take this photograph. Turned off just before Tewkesbury, about 5 miles along the M50, turn off for Ledbury/Gloucester and a lovely ride along the A417 home.

If you have seen the film 'Greystoke' you may remember this, Elgars Symphony No.1. Most, if not all, of the music in the film was by Elgar.
