Calling all sailors

Another historical occasion. This time at Port Mapua where the boat club have refurbished their rooms and museum displays. The whole weekend was taken up with blessings and openings and today a fun community day.
Trev, Maureen and I took a picnic lunch out and sat watching the kayaks race.
We missed the main event which was a reenactment with sea scouts rowing Capt Arthur Wakefield up the channel and being greeted by a chap nominated as mayor of Mapua because of his many battles with the local council on behalf of the boat club.
Some extras show the characters. Dressed in authentic clothes by the chap on the left Greg Olsen who is playing the ships captain with Wakefield on right, then the chief organiser is The Rat who sneaked ashore, the mayor with his paint lid chains standing by a mutual friend.

I want to know what the flags on the Cristina are saying? Any sailors out there can tell me? Or make it up!!

We were late because we had a family reunion group researching at our rooms for a couple of hours. It has been history overload this weekend.
