Sgwarnog: In the Field

Plunge

We took the plunge into the rain and down into the valley and were rewarded with some magical sunny spells in amongst the precipitation.

12yo had arranged a social engagement with a few of his friends in Roberts Park, so 9yo and I left him there and headed into Salts Mill to mooch among the cards, books and art supplies. I've generally weaned myself off buying nice art and photography books, but I was tempted by Jill Mullin's Drawing Autism which promises some insight into how some of my fellow autists see and represent the/ir world, as well as being full of nice pictures.

We returned home soggier but satisfied with our jaunts and we even played out again after tea.

Today's image is the point at which we burst forth from the woods on Baildon Bank to find the Saltaire mills paraded before us. In extras we descend through said woods and admire the turbulence of the New Mill weir. We like occupying this ambiguous place where you're not quite sure whether you're in the country or the city. Indeed, most of the time we're in both.
