firefly flower...

...all glowing and sparkly

like those lightening bugs, we called them - of my childhood days... do you remember those? they'd light up the night sky... we'd chase after them like crazy kids... trying to see who could catch the most, putting 'em in jars - - they'd sort of stay suspended in mid-air... the bottom half of their bodies lighting up with this kind of luminescent glow - green or yellow if i recall - so you were able to then scoop them into your hand, plopping them into the jar... then there'd be this huge glowing madness from them - boo! probably not the nicest thing i ever did - but as children, we were fascinated by these bugs...

hence when i saw this flowering plant - how it appeared to glow at me... i was instantly transported to those backyard evenings - with my best friends... and my pesky brothers, too... all of us running around - staying occupied with nature of all things... i'll tell you this - experiencing a bit of time travel on a late summer afternoon - made for...
