Beside the sea ...

Holy Trinity Church often appears to be tucked well inland, behind Dunoon, at the foot of the Bishop's Glen. However, from this angle you can see that it commands a bit of the Firth of Clyde, especially when the trees are bare. Even in summer, it's possible to see it nestling on its little St Bride's hill if you're sailing on Waverley - or your private yacht, if you're that way inclined.

I'm including an extra photo: Mollie the Rectory collie was looking especially gorgeous this afternoon as she waited for us to stop gassing with her owner. She was twitching with anticipation, but made no move to jump up or run off. I could learn to be fond of dogs if they were all like this ...
