Devizes (Monday 20th March 2017)

I spent Monday lunchtime beside the Crammer with a chicken pasta salad, looking at the birds on the pond. I got a few shots of cygnet swans and a pair of Canada geese in the churchyard opposite, but as I've blipped swans over 100 times but never before a lesser black-backed gull I chose this as my blip.

My own copy of Black Listed arrived in the post on this day. I know this Aretha Franklin cover from a live concert Neko Case recorded for a John Peel programme in September 2000. Aretha's version was recorded in 1964 for Columbia, before she signed with Atlantic and had a great change of fortune.
