Looking Back

The alarm woke us at 3:30 am for our 6:30 am flight.  The flight was completely full and very uncomfortable for me as I had an unexpected sciatica flare so spent a bit of the time standing instead of seated and sleeping.  We Ubered (new verb) to our son's office and picked up his car. After dropping off our bags at his house, we headed up the road to Red Rock Canyon, thinking that a short hike might do us good after 5 1/2 hours of inactivity on the plane.  We took the Keystone Thrust trail which was only 2.2 miles but going out was all uphill, very rocky and ultimately had us above 5000 ft. The wind was quite strong and cold, but we toughed it out and were rewarded with some spectacular views in all directions.

I just checked the Wide Angle Weds theme and I think Mountains will fit the bill, just have to wrap my tired brain around the tag which has the day before the month.

Looking forward to an early bedtime tonight.

Our thoughts this evening are with the people of the U.K.
