Windsor Great Park

We met dear friends Paul and Pauline for lunch at a pub at the edge of Windsor Great Park. On a sunny Saturday the world and his wife were out and about today. We had a very slow journey on the M25, then when we arrived there were cars and people everywhere. N dropped me at the pub while he disappeared to find somewhere to park. After a very good lunch we walked in the Valley Gardens, disappointingly lacking in flowers but still very pleasant. Pauline and I walked as far as the huge totem pole, carved in 1958 and a gift to the Queen from Canada. We walked almost as far as Virginia Water while Paul and Norman sat on a bench in the sun and put the world to rights. Then back to the pub for a cup of tea on an outside table in the sun. An excellent day.
The extra shows a little bridge in the park.
