Rain Shadows

Desperate for a blip on this soggy day, I waited for a break in the driving rain and looked out the window. That's when I spotted this pattern of dry spots on the brick wall behind the Santa Rita prickly pear cactus out back.

It must be a week of brain/eye suggestions because these, at first glance, looked like rain shadows to me. (Don't over-think it!)

There has been wave after wave of tropical storms in the Pacific Ocean forcing moisture up the Gulf of California right into southern Arizona. Lots of "heavy air". It's going to be a long week.
