Spying from Starbucks

In 2014 I found myself sitting in a Washington DC Starbucks watching the world go by.  It was a cold, sleety day with people rushing by.  As I sat there, I decided to photograph the people.  This was the beginning of one of my projects, Spying from Starbucks, but, more importantly, the beginning of my interest in street photography.

I like the way the man in this photo is staring into space, waiting for...something...obviously not his coffee/tea, which is under his right hand, but something....
