Some Like It Wet

The Queensland government has closed schools and asked non-essential government employees to stay home. Many other businesses have done the same. We are all asked not to go out unless really necessary. Already plenty of foolish folk have driven through flood water and have had to be rescued.

The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Debbie have brought flooding to Brisbane and we have a few more hours of this to go. There are power outages in several areas (so far, so good here in Hawthorne, Brisbane)

I did venture out briefly earlier this morning and found the nearby park had become a lake. It was (unsurprisingly) deserted - apart from these two youngsters having a whale of a time, running, splashing and soaked to the skin.
