Lathyrus Odoratus

Wood sorrel

The spaniel has one leg partially shaved and his head in a large plastic cone to stop him biting it. All due to a "foreign body" (the vet's term for a large thorn) being embedded and having caused his leg to swell. Despite this he still wants his minimum four hours, preferably five, of walks. This morning's walk included Great Wet Wood (another evocative woodland name) where I was pleased to see Wood Sorrel, and other ancient woodland indicators such as wood spurge, ransoms and wood anemone.
