Silly Saturday?
A walk into town, with the weather threatening to rain on us. Cleared up nicely though by the time we got there. Regulation coffee in Leah's and an amble around the town centre where there was a market of sorts. A rag tag of stalls selling trinkets and ornaments as well as lots of different sorts of food. The oddest and daftest was this stall which qualified for Silly Saturday. Who would want to display some of these plaques?
The afternoon was a very interesting and moving event to be involved in. I was refereeing a match between Sevenoaks and the Metropolitan Police at Sevenoaks. I didn't know until I arrived that this was a charity memorial match to remember PC Keith Palmer, one of the 4 people murdered at Westminster recently. Quite a few people there with a minute's applause for PC Palmer before the game, lots of photographs and much collecting of cash towards the Emergency Services Support Fund.
A very good game also which Sevenoaks won 31-21 one that I enjoyed and all the players too. Quite pleased to have made a small contribution to remembering a person who had given his life for public service.
Having written this and posted the entry it occurs to me that this may not be the best shot to post today so I may change it to a appropriate photo.
