Córdoba

We travelled by bus from Málaga to Córdoba today and arrived to find the temperature at a sizzling 28C.

Córdoba is not only about the world-famous Mezquita mosque-cathedral, with its stunning arches. The picture shows another great location - El Puente Romano, a bridge built in the early first century BC across the Guadalquivir river.

It has been reconstructed on many occasions, but most of the present structure apparently dates from the 8th century and the time of the Moors.

Remarkably, there are still two of the original arches remaining.
