Seeking spring

This lovely American Robin was foraging for fat worms under the leaves this morning. It's sunny and warmer than usual today, but overcast skies will win out soon and more torrential rain tomorrow. Good for our drought, but not for the drive to a doctor's appointment tomorrow.

I had a lovely birthday weekend with so many greetings, flowers and cards.  Spending Friday listening to Bernie Sanders was a great way to kick off the celebrations. Yesterday we spent some time shopping in two favorite shops, Crate & Barrel & Williams Sonoma. New silverware, a lovely pan and new Shun paring knife helped to fill up my birthday bag.

The hellebore blooms(see the extra) are beginning to open, but the day lily plants look quite sad as they made their appearance too early. The early shoots were buried in the snow and cold for too long and look pale and twisted now. I hope they manage to recover.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny and warmer with increasing clouds.

All hands listening to the deliberations over the vote/block for Judge Gorsuch. Filibuster, nuclear option, re-election woes. AND what does Jared know about Iraq, visiting there before the Secretary of State??? Ethics, conflict of interest issues raising eyebrows and on and on with this administration.

My heart goes out to the Russian citizens after the terrible bombing.
