Barnt Green Cricket Club

The weather this week has been lovely, and people are saying that the summer has begun at last. This can only mean one thing - the domestic cricket season is nearly over. Notice how wonderful the spring was right up until the cricket season started.

I was working at home again today, and a lunchtime walk took me past the Cherry Hill Road ground of Barnt Green Cricket Club.

This is a very successful village club. Their 1st XI currently plays in the Premier Division of the Birmingham and District Premier League, which is the oldest club cricket league in the world, formed in 1888, and arguably the strongest club competition in the country. The ground is also used by the 2nd XI of Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
