Papagayo Sunset

We enjoyed this fine sunset from the patio outside our room on our last night in Costa Rica, looking out across the Gulf of Papagayo as a lone yacht heads out towards the Pacific.

We'd spent another lazy day on the beach. We've really needed and enjoyed the rest these last few days after the hectic first week but have both felt that this has been the least Costa Rican part of the holiday, apart from the friendly local staff. I think it's because, despite the beautiful setting, the corporate nature of the hotel makes it feel it could be anywhere in the world. You actually feel isolated from the real country of Costa Rica which we enjoyed so much in our first week of travelling.
