The first rose

The name Primrose is derived via Old French from the latin, prima rosa.

After a horridly early but uneventful journey we're back in the Alps. Lunch in the square was great - very nearly 20°C, but by the time coffee arrived the sky was overcast and the mountains shrouded - the snow is disappearing by the hour it would seem.

One of the jobs we had to do whilst out here was to visit the managing agent and find out what is going on with the building maintenance that was planned for last September - but turning into the Hammeau our apartment block is wrapped in scaffolding and a hive of activity. Mildly annoying (Im guessing lie-ins will be tough) but mostly "yeay".

A blip wander whilst Mrs IttH snoozed found violets, cuckoo flowers, marigolds, willowherb and more - but every slope of grass is covered with these - mostly yellow but also pinks and whites and the odd darker red. In the absence of mountain views they'll have to do.
