Life through my eyes

Don't be Grebey!

This morning we had a "greentomato" taxi to the WWT London Wetland Centre.  It was only 5 miles from the hotel, and 15 minutes by car.  To go by bus would have been more than an hour via two buses, and no train route so the taxi wasn't as extravagant as it sounds!

It was another glorious warm and sunny day.  Plus I spotted a third Editor's Pick from yesterday, and another one from this morning!  I had thought they might not give the same person more than one in a day.  Perhaps I am in a preferred location!  We have been so lucky!  When we left home we just hoped it would be dry!  The sunshine has been a bonus and I have caught the sun a bit too.

The first and last birds we saw were parrots!  The ones in the tree amused me with their acrobatics and synchronised scratching!  The one looking at the hole in the brick wall actually went inside!

The centre is a bit like Llanelli where there are two directions you can walk. In the morning we took the West Walk which goes to the Wildside!  There we saw a dozen ducklings (which are early) and their Mum was doing a good job of seeing off intruders and keeping them under control!  See extra.

We went back to The Water's Edge Cafe for lunch and then afterwards we walked the South Route.  All the Dusty Ducks (for the Dusty Duck Trail first launched at WWT Slimbridge).  It was a very different route to the one we took this morning.  We spotted Mr and Mrs Reed Bunting, and the Great Crested Grebe, which is my main Blip.
