MONA and the Posh Pit

We headed off to MONA on the ferry after breakfast in Salamanca Place. We decided to go 'Posh Pit' on the ferry, which, for a little extra money, enabled us to drink wine and eat canapés whilst lounging around amongst cushions on the couches. The fare also included the winery tour so was quite good value, really.
There were quite a few steps up to the escarpment where the art gallery is So we worked off some of the wine. The view was stunning and there was this amazing rusty iron sculpture which I blipped. The gallery architecture was spectacular - there is not very much to be seen from the outside as it descends into the rock. The texture and colour of the rock was beautiful and there were many imressive installations. I will try to put some photos on Flickr but I am finding little time to sit at a computer. We didn't make the winery tour as we didn't want to hurry through the last bit of the gallery. Back on the ferry in the Posh Pit we had more wine and petite fours for afternoon tea. We had a wonderful day with gorgeous sunny weather and I would highly recommend a trip to Tasmania just to see MONA.
In the evening we went to an Indian restaurant which had been recommended. It was fabulous but the intensity of the Vindaloo has put us off Indian food for the near future.
