Orange tip

I love Orange tips, the true butterfly of spring!
I am still feeling pretty grotty, but I managed to go out for a short while to Itchingfield churchyard which was a beautiful riot of springtime colour - it made me feel so much better!
The Orange tip Anthocharis cardamines, is a common but very beautiful springtime butterfly, often seen in these parts flying up and down roadside verges hoping to apprehend a female, stopping every now and then to nectar on the ladies smock.
