Unfurling Fern

I spotted this fern in the wood, and it is the softest shade of green. I expect these fronds will be fully unfurled by tomorrow.
My extra is a bird that was in a tree at the edge of the wood. If anyone can identify it, I'd be very grateful.
We walked about 5 miles this afternoon, along the towpath at the side of the canal to the pub in Wootton Wawen, and back again (mine was a sparkling water, honest.)
The weather was so gorgeous - there were lots of walkers and cyclists out, and also quite a few narrow boats with people just starting off on their holidays. They picked the right weather.
