Aphididae

As I was washing up, I noticed these little swine infesting one of the chilli plants. No idea which of the 500 species in the UK these are, but definitely of the aphid family :(
You can see how they breed so quickly; the large ones in the bottom left are full of eggs, none of which are fertilised. The females clone themselves (parthenogenesis) so all the little ones are identical to their "mother".

Ugly little things, aren't they?
