Looking Down on Akaroa Harbour

It was such a lovely warm day.

After lunch we made our way back to Christchurch. Today we went another route home to get some photos on the way. My youngest son was wanting to try out his new lens on his camera he brought to take on his trip to the UK in June.

I had never taken the road around the hill tops to Little River and always wanted to. Part of the road is sealed and only has enough room for one car. We were so lucky as we had found a place off the road.. as there were not many at all, to get a few shots. Just as were leaving a big sheep truck was coming down the hill. My son would have had to back down the hill for a long way if we had meet it as we were going up!

Because of the heavy rain parts of the road had been damaged but luckily in a 4WD it wasn't a problem. We ever saw any other cars on the way which was good.

In this shot looking over towards Akaora I think must the the highest part of Banks Peninsula.
