New Born

This week we are staying on a farm and it's the lambing season. The pregnant ewes have been brought into a barn close by so the farmer can keep an eye on everything. Mostly the ewes just get on with things but occasionally need some assistance. Also, the new born lambs have a little protection from the weather whilst they are at their most vulnerable. Once the mother had washed and dried her newborn, they were moved to another pen in the barn, along with slightly older sibling and, tomorrow will go out into the field to join the others.

We are welcome to see what's going on in the farm and were fortunate enough to watch this little one born. Magic! This lamb is only a few minutes old and the older brother born about half an hour earlier.

We also went to see the Cerne Giant and then to a local national trust property. By this point it was just me and younger daughter so we took advantage of this including a lunch stop on the way and, later, afternoon tea. Well, we are on holiday.
