Adieu les torchons

Farewell to my faded, unraveling, threadbare, loved to death forty-year-old French linen tea towels. They're so soft and so charming! I can hardly bear to let them go.

Each towel is about 26 x 17 inches and contains a recipe in French.
Clockwise from top left: les Truites à la Crème (trout in cream), la Soupe de Poissons (fish soup), Crêpe Bretonne (pancake Breton style), Moules Marinière (mussels sailor style).

GOODBYE OLD THINGS

How cruel it is
without a doubt
that things I love
just plumb wear out.

Goodbye to those
I'll no more see.
Some day you'll say
goodbye to me.
