Sunset of wires

The engineer who came out to repair our dead phone today replaced our modem too so internet access has just noticeably speeded up. For a short while I'll enjoy it then I'll take it for granted. So it's salutary to remember the excitement of bleepy dial-up connections over lines like these not so very long ago. Remember that?
