In the Dingle

I went to Shrewsbury today as I needed to do a bit of shopping. At this time of year I like to eat alfresco if the weather's good so I had a sandwich in the Dingle. This little gem is in The Quarry, the town's park on the bank of the River Severn and was created by Percy Thrower who used to be the park's head gardener. It's a lovely peaceful spot amongst the flowers - although a but less peaceful than in term time!

The church in the distance is St.Chad's which is circular. When I was at school we used to have the Founder's Day service there. The girl's grammar was on one side and the boy's grammar the other and never the twain allowed to meet!!
