Cucumbers with Love!

At the allotment this morning for a couple of hours, harvesting, thinning out, tidying and watering.
Marlene (as opposed to my wife Marlane) popped across from her allotment 3 up to give us a couple of cucumbers. They happen to be quite curved on the ends, which just cried out to be displayed as a heart.
The people at the allotments are just lovely, Marlene often gives us runner beans, we only have four plants so we get a few each week for Sunday but she is always giving us a load to use during the week.
Someone else gave us some celery seedlings about 3 months ago and they are growing like mad. Should be able to start using them next week. Also ten sweetcorn plants, that went in very late, but although they are only about 4 feet high we have a dozen or so sweetcorn on them.
Old Albert in the next allotment has given us carrotts and a bag of huge onions.
They know we planted a bit late and they like to help us out with some produce and quite often some invaluable advice.
Another chap has been away for a while and told Marlene to let us know we can pick his Raspberries. Marlane made 8 jars of raspberry jam this afternoon!
People can be so lovely.

In return we use our petrol mower to mow up the paths and at the front of their allotments where they have grass for parking their cars. They are very grateful for our little contribution otherwise the grass just grows up to knee height.

I'll have to do a blip of Albert, he's a bit of a character as well as being a nice bloke.
